Break Week 9 — Good News

Hello everyone. As mentioned last week, we have a visitor in town, so we’re busy, and this will be a short update as a result.

But the big news this time around — the thing I hinted at last time — is …

We have been granted Permanent Residency here in Canada. That’s another name for landed immigrant status, and (I think) basically equivalent to being granted a green card as an immigrant into the US.

For us is means we can stay here indefinitely, and eventually we will qualify for citizenship. It’s great news, and we’re very happy. Here’s a photo of us outside the IRCC office just after we signed the final forms:

Don’t get used to pictures of us here, but just this once it seemed like a good thing.

And finally, this week, I saw this sign and decided I needed to share it:

Those crazy golfers and their knickers, playing anywhere they want and endangering the public. How rude!
