What to Write This Week?

I wish I knew, to be honest.

Don’t look too closely at the window sill. Tink doesn’t care about it. In fact, she made that mess!

There is a major news story in the US that I have strong opinions about, but no one cares what I think, and what I have to say won’t add to the discourse in any meaningful or useful way, so I will keep my opinions to myself.

In my own life, I spent the last week working on the community email, which goes out early tomorrow morning. What time wasn’t spent on that was spent recovering from a couple of nights of poor sleep and trying to catch up on other tasks that were put off as the monthly email consumed me.

And where does that leave me this week?

Boring. Utterly boring. As usual. Sorry.

I suppose I could mention that we are now very loosely in touch with an architect to get our kitchen remodel planned out. We actually haven’t met him in person yet, but that is being scheduled.

And why do we need an architect for a simple kitchen remodel, particularly since we’ve done two kitchens in the past without one? It turns out that this job will be large enough (including the power supply update) that permits are a must, and it’s best to have someone with a clue — an architect — deal with the city on that front. So, we are going that route. We do plan on moving one wall and removing a fireplace, so an architect is probably a good idea in any case, and an engineer will have to go over things as well, but it’s not all that complicated except for the permits.

So an architect is needed, but we’ll keep it simple.

Anything else? Well, I spent some time reviewing the novel that I am taking way too long to get done. (Once again, sorry Gary!)

And I walked the dog a few times. She’s decided she wants more walks and isn’t afraid to let us know about that. And I am her humble servant.

My plan for the coming week is to finish reviewing the novel and try to get a coat of primer on the drywall I flattened out all those weeks ago, in order to see if it really is done or if it needs more work.

I wish my life was more entertaining, but that is just not the case this time.

I hope you are doing something more fun!
